You can Keep a Winning Attitude (Dec 12, 2008)

I think someone has said before, "if winning wasn't important, why do we keep scores?"

How true.

Let's get real. We Play to Win. And all this talk about Learning through Failures is all true and important too too but the idea is to learn so you can Win the next time. Isn't it? Because Winning Matters. Nobody feels that great being 2nd grade all the time. No one has to learn just to be Average. That's not a bad place to be, I am just saying it's not quite something you should set your aspirations on.

All Winning begins in the Head. It's in the undauntable spirit that seeks to be bigger, stronger, more powerful with each loss.

Like many things, it's a choice we come to make, consciously and determinedly, obstinately, uncompromisingly.

Unless you have unwavering convictions about who you are and what you want. And unless you want it bad enough, you cannot ever lift your spirit to the Unbeatable.

Like being Happy.

Because the world is not a cheery place. Because Death comes to every life. Because your brain always rememembers Sorrow much much more acutely than it holds on to happy memories. You must not let the world win. Because then, you allow yourself to be reduced to a faceless debris of Nature, a necessary construct in its eco-logic of the survival of the fittest.

Choose Strength, Encourage Courage, Harness Spirit, Keep Friends, Entertain Imagination, Creativity and Hope. And keep it all together with Faith.

And you can Win. You have to. Because the alternative is unimaginable.
